UkraineNOWde project

We’re eager to share great news: Altima has successfully completed redesign of the German-Ukrainian portal UkraineNOWde.

The main goal of this website is to cover events that take place in Germany and are related to Ukraine: concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, various discussions and other similar events and initiatives.

This project is completely independent of Ukrainian and German governments and in many ways runs due to help of ordinary visitors – anyone can post information to the website.

The main task of our team was to move the old UkraineNOWde website platform to multipurpose WordPress CMS, as well as to improve it both visually and technically in order to achieve the following goals:

• comfortable, easy to comprehend layout of content
• dynamic calendar of events with interactive mapping
• quick search of useful information
• ability to publish materials for any guest of the portal

From developer’s point of view, the most interesting part was creating correlation between the events calendar, the map, posting content with website’s form and data filtering according to the selected parameters. These features are non-standard for WordPress, so we had to code them from scratch.

In result, we did an excellent job and met all customer’s expectations, parties involved in the development process were satisfied with the product.

Despite the fact that the development of the portal has been successfully completed, the project does not stand still. Website administration listens to suggestions and recommendations of visitors, and on our part, we promptly implement most interesting and promising ideas, pleasing the audience with new useful features.
